The finished Headboard
I added a walnut stain to it and a semi matt finish to it. Turned out better than I thought it would. :)
Ignore the bedding, had to do a Quick one for the shot ;)
Think white a bit fluffy and a touch of color and you get the finished deal.
Now the dilemma is bedsidetables...and the rest of the decor.
In other words...we are long from being done. :)

Headboard DIY
The reason I have been missing: Enjoying some good weather, the beach and familytime and the process of making my own headboard. :)
Remember this inspiration moodboard I did:

Well after I posted this my fingers started to itch a bit, that and my wanting to get it done, I went to get some materials.
It was a fun Project to do, even though it took up most of my livingroom...
Had to do the DIY'ing after work and only for about 30 min at a time, which made it take longer than it should have done. :)
The finished Headboard before any stain were put on it.
Really love how it turned out. You can easily do it in a few hours, but since I live in a apartmentbuilding I had to keep the noise down a bit. Don't think my neighbours would had loved me if I kept it going at night. The plans I followed (did some changes to the measurements to fit what I had) I found at Ana White's website.
I bought the timber already smooth/sanded and cut to precise length so the final cost for it was a bit more than originally planned. For me it worked out for the best, since I had nowhere to do the cutting, sanding etc.

Halfway through the Project. A tip...if you do have say garage or a area where you don't spend that much time in it would be preferable. But if you don't...the livingroom works great. :)

Bedroom makeover - Planningstage
I have been wanting to do something to my bedroom for months now. I just put up my headboard I have now for sale to get this makeover up and going. Otherwise I will still be dreaming by december...
Do know how I want it to look like when finished but resources are tight so need to be on a budget here. (not that I have made one yet...but need to keep it on a minimum)
Here is a little moodboard that I put together of things that caught my eye and things that I want:
the headboard is something that I will create by myself (hence putting the one I have up for sale so I can get moving and make the one above), I have found the plans online by a very talented lady. (AnaWhite)
The metal stool I own already and thinking of moving it to the bedroom to use as a sidetable. Pillows and lamps are found at Chilli. I am still debating on having a ceilinglamp or just put a floorstanding one in the corner for those days I need to light the room up.
The White bedsidetable I found at Ikea, and it is reasonable cheap for me to perhaps paint in a turqoise color...
Bedding will be in White (obsessed with bare white bedding), and might switch out the arearug I have now to a white or beige one. (have black at the moment.)
Any ideas or don'ts??
